Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Does the charger slow down if I plug two devices in at the same time?

A: No, it does not. Unlike cheaper multi-port chargers that split a single power pool when shared, the Scosche USBC242M features completely independent circuits for each port. It will continuously output full 12W (2.4A) to both USB ports simultaneously, even if you are charging two power-hungry tablets at once.

Q: Will this charger fit inside a standard 12V motorcycle or truck socket?

A: Yes. The charger is engineered with a universal form factor designed to work perfectly in all standard 12V DC accessory outlets (cigarette lighter sockets) found across passenger cars, commercial transport trucks, SUVs, and commuter motorcycles.

Q: Does this charger support modern USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) or Quick Charge 3.0?

A: This charger utilizes standard high-output USB-A ports pushing 5V at 2.4A (12W). While it doesn’t support high-voltage Type-C Power Delivery (which requires a Type-C connector), it delivers the absolute fastest standard rate possible for USB-A, allowing it to charge an iPhone or Android device significantly faster than standard factory dashboard ports.

Q: Can I leave this adapter plugged into the 12V socket overnight when the engine is off?

A: Yes, the adapter features an incredibly low idle power draw. However, whether it stays on depends entirely on your vehicle’s wiring: if your car’s 12V outlet cuts power when the key is removed, the charger shuts off instantly. If your outlet is “always hot,” its internal safety circuitry draws micro-amps that won’t impact a healthy car battery over short spans, though removing it during weeks of vehicle storage is a good practice.

Q: What type of charging cables come included in the box?

A: The Scosche USBC242M is sold as a standalone high-performance charging core to keep costs economical and allow you to use your existing gear. It does not include charging cables, but it pairs perfectly with any high-quality USB-A to Lightning, Type-C, or Micro-USB cables you already own.
