Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What is the main difference between the JBL Club 602C and the JBL Club 605CSQ?

A: While both are 6.5″ 2-way component sets, the Club 605CSQ is the upgraded “Sound Quality” (SQ) model. The 605CSQ upgrades from a standard polypropylene cone to a stiffer carbon fiber cone, uses a stronger Y40 ferrite magnet, handles slightly higher RMS power (95W RMS vs. 70W RMS), and digs lower in bass response (48 Hz vs 55 Hz).

Q: What does the tweeter adjustment switch on the crossover do?

A: The crossover features a 0dB / +3dB toggle switch. If your tweeters are mounted low in the door or behind thick factory grilles, setting it to +3dB boosts high frequencies so they cut through clean. If the tweeters are mounted high on your A-pillars pointing right at your ears, leaving it at 0dB gives you a neutral, balanced tone.

Q: Will these speakers run fine off a standard factory radio?

A: Yes! Thanks to JBLs high 93 dB sensitivity rating and low 3-ohm impedance, the 605CSQ will play efficiently on factory radio power. However, because of the carbon fiber woofer’s capability, pairing them with an external amplifier (50W to 100W RMS per channel) will significantly improve dynamic range and bass performance.
