AES H27 55watt 5500 Kelvin Hid Xenon Bulb

Product Overview

Cut through dense night fog and dark highway shoulders with the precision illumination of the AES H27 55-Watt 5500Kelvin HID Xenon Bulb. Engineered specifically as a premium replacement bulb for vehicles running standard H27 (commonly known as 880 or 881) factory halogen configurations, this high-intensity discharge bulb delivers a massive upgrade in forward-facing brightness and wide beam scatter without overheating your factory lamp housings.

This premium xenon bulb is optimized to handle a heavy-duty 55-Watt power input, maximizing the light-emitting potential of its quartz glass capsule. When paired with a compatible 55W digital ballast, it strikes a bright, continuous electrical arc that produces significantly more visible light than a standard halogen filament. The bulb operates at a highly sought-after 5500K Pure White color profile. This specific color temperature is designed to mimic natural daylight, providing a clean, crisp visual output that dramatically heightens road contrast, sharpens lane visibility, and highlights road signs without causing glare or driving fatigue.

Built to withstand harsh, real-world driving environments, the AES H27 bulb is constructed with a highly stable, heat-resistant composite base. The capsule is anchored precisely to match factory focal alignments, meaning the light cooperates flawlessly with your vehicles existing reflector mirrors or fog light lenses to cast an even, wide-reaching beam pattern. Equipped with standard insulated leads and universal AMP-style connectors, it drops effortlessly into your current aftermarket HID harness setup.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Does this package include a pair of bulbs, or is it a single replacement bulb?

A: This specific listing is for a single high-performance AES H27 HID bulb. If you are doing a complete overhaul of both your left and right front lighting housings, please make sure to update your shopping cart quantity to two units.

Q: Will this H27 bulb work if I plug it directly into my car’s original factory wiring harness?

A: No. HID xenon bulbs require an external high-voltage source to ignite the gas inside the capsule. This bulb must be connected to an aftermarket 55-Watt HID ballast (sold separately) which then interfaces directly with your car’s power lines.

Q: My car’s manual says it takes an 880 or an 881 bulb. Will this AES H27 bulb fit?

A: Yes, absolutely. In the automotive lighting industry, H27, 880, and 881 share the same base dimensions and mounting geometry. This bulb is fully compatible with any housing built around those standard size codes, making it a very popular choice for upgrading factory fog light systems.

Q: Why choose the 5500K color profile over a 6000K bulb option?

A: A color profile of 5500K is highly recommended for real-world driving visibility. While a 6000K bulb looks slightly cooler due to a light blue tint, that blue light can scatter on wet roads or during heavy rain. The 5500K rating provides a pure, intense white beam that delivers the best possible depth perception and contrast in poor weather.

Q: Can I use this 55W rated bulb with my existing 35-Watt HID ballasts?

A: Yes, you can physically connect it, but the bulb’s brightness will be limited by the ballast output. Operating a 55W bulb with a 35W ballast means it will only run at 35 Watts of intensity. To achieve the full, ultra-bright capability of this bulb, it should be paired with a matching 55W AC digital ballast.
