iPHCAR D2h Hid 35w/55w Hid Bulb D2H

Product Overview

The Retrofitter’s Choice for Clean Installations

When adapting high-performance 3.0-inch Bi-Xenon projectors into factory headlamp assemblies, physical space behind the projector housing is always at a premium. The iPHCAR D2H HID Replacement Bulbs are specifically engineered to eliminate installation clearance headaches. By taking the high-output optical capabilities of a standard D2S capsule and replacing the traditional bulky twist-on base socket with integrated flexible AMP wiring pigtails, these bulbs drop seamlessly into tight spaces without hitting structural frame rails or dust covers.

Versatile Power & Sharp Focus Alignment

Constructed with a highly stable quartz gas discharge chamber, these premium replacement bulbs feature universal power tolerance. They operate flawlessly when paired with either 35-Watt or 55-Watt aftermarket digital ballasts, allowing you to choose between standard efficiency or extreme light output. The precise axial positioning of the internal gas arc perfectly mirrors engineered optical sweet spots, resulting in a razor-sharp beam cutoff line with zero dark spots or scattered light pollution.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What exactly is a D2H bulb, and how does it differ from a D2S bulb?

A: A D2H bulb features the exact same glass capsule profile and physical alignment base as a standard D2S bulb. However, a traditional D2S bulb requires a large, thick plastic igniter socket twisted onto the back, which often hits the headlight dust cap. The iPHCAR D2H bulb features flexible high-voltage wires running directly out from the bulb baseline base, significantly saving rear clearance space during custom retrofits.

Q: Does this package include the external ballasts required to light the bulbs?

A: No. This package contains two replacement D2H HID bulbs only. High-Intensity Discharge systems rely on specialized high-voltage gas ignition to turn on, meaning these bulbs must be plugged into external digital ballasts (sold separately) to function properly.

Q: Can I use these bulbs if I am currently running a 55W ballast kit?

A: Yes! The iPHCAR D2H bulbs are heavy-duty capsules designed to be universally compatible with both standard 35-Watt and high-power 55-Watt digital ballasts, safely handling the increased current to deliver extreme brightness.

Q: Will these bulbs fit into my stock vehicle fog lights?

A: D2H bulbs are explicitly designed for aftermarket headlight retrofit projectors (such as 3.0-inch Bi-Xenon main headlamp lenses) that accept D2S/D2H bulb bases. If you are upgrading standard fog lights, you will likely need an H8 or H11 bulb layout instead. Always check your projector housing specifications before ordering.

Q: Can I handle the glass portion of the bulb during installation?

A: Never touch the quartz glass capsule with bare fingers. Human skin leaves behind micro-oils. When the high-power HID system fires up, these oils create localized hot spots that can crack the glass or cause premature bulb failure. Always hold the bulbs by their composite plastic base or wear clean gloves. If accidentally touched, wipe the glass thoroughly with an alcohol swab before turning it on.
