JBL Club 602C- 6.5″, Two-way Component Speaker

Product Overview

The JBL Club 602C 6.5-inch 2-way component speaker system delivers signature JBL sound performance in a compact, installer-friendly design. Built as a direct upgrade over dull factory OEM audio, this split component set separates the woofer and tweeter drivers to create a elevated, lifelike soundstage across your vehicles dashboard.

Patented Plus One Woofer Architecture

The C1 woofer utilizes JBL’s patented Plus One polypropylene cone structure. By extending the cone surface area closer to the surround basket, the Club 602C provides more cone area than competing speakers in its class. The result is punchy mid-bass response, improved low-frequency efficiency, and enhanced overall dynamic character. The UV-resistant polypropylene cone is acoustically damped to withstand extreme cabin heat and humidity without degrading.

Edge-Driven Silk Dome Tweeters

For silky high frequencies without listening fatigue, the system features 3/4″ (19mm) edge-driven silk dome tweeters. Unlike cheaper W-shaped or poly-balanced domes, these edge-driven metal/silk domes offer smooth, detailed high-frequency extension and broad off-axis sound dispersion. The included I-Mount mounting hardware allows you to flush-mount or angle the tweeters up to 40 degrees for direct sound staging toward your ears.

High Efficiency & 3-Ohm Architecture

Featuring JBLs high-efficiency 3-ohm voice coil architecture, the Club 602C safely extracts extra wattage from factory radios or low-power head units to make up for thin factory speaker wiring. It handles 70 Watts RMS (210 Watts Peak), making it equally capable when paired with a multi-channel aftermarket amplifier.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What comes in the box with the JBL Club 602C component kit?

A: The full package includes 2 x 6.5″ woofers, 2 x silk dome tweeters, 2 x crossover networks, 2 x woofer protective grilles, plastic multi-hole mounting adapter rings, and the I-Mount tweeter mounting pods.

Q: Why are these speakers rated at 3 Ohms instead of the standard 4 Ohms?

A: JBL’s 3-ohm low-impedance design compensates for the thin-gauge speaker wiring found in most modern vehicles. This allows your head unit or amplifier to output slightly more power cleanly, giving you richer, fuller volume. They are completely safe for standard 4-ohm factory car radios.

Q: Do I need an external power amplifier for these component speakers?

A: No, because of their high 92 dB sensitivity rating, the JBL Club 602C will sound much clearer than stock speakers even when running directly off a factory radio or touchscreen player. However, adding a 4-channel amplifier (rated 40W to 70W RMS) will unleash their full mid-bass impact and dynamic detail.
