Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Does the JBL Stage 1220B come with a built-in amplifier?

A: No, the Stage 1220B is a passive subwoofer enclosure. It requires a separate external power amplifier (ideally a monoblock amplifier rated around 500W RMS at 2 Ohms) to power the subwoofers.

Q: What type of amplifier is best suited for this dual 12″ box?

A: A dedicated Class-D monoblock amplifier that outputs 500 Watts RMS into a 2-Ohm load is ideal. Matching the power rating ensures clean bass reproduction without clipping the amplifier or overpowering the woofers.

Q: Is the 2-Ohm wiring configurable to 4 Ohms?

A: The enclosure comes factory pre-wired internally to a single terminal cup presenting a 2-Ohm final load. This configuration is optimized for standard mono amplifiers, eliminating the need to perform complex impedance calculations or internal box wiring.
