Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the MOCO AF-04.120 amplifier used for?
The MOCO AF-04.120 is a 4-channel car amplifier designed to provide additional power to car speakers and compatible subwoofer setups for louder, cleaner and more controlled audio.

2. How much power does the MOCO AF-04.120 deliver?
It delivers 120W RMS 4 at 4 and supports up to 200W 2 at 2. In bridged operation, it can deliver up to 450W 2 at 4.

3. Can I use this amplifier for both speakers and a subwoofer?
Yes. You can use two channels for front speakers and bridge the remaining channels for a compatible 4-ohm subwoofer setup.

4. Is the MOCO AF-04.120 suitable for component speakers?
Yes, provided the speakers’ impedance and power requirements match the amplifier’s output. It can be a good choice for upgrading a component-speaker system with more powerful amplification.

5. Is this amplifier Class-D? What are the benefits?
Yes. It uses MOSFET Class-D technology, which provides efficient power delivery and is suitable for high-output car audio installations where efficient operation is important.

6. Can I connect the amplifier to my factory car stereo?
Compatibility depends on the output configuration of your factory head unit and the installation setup. Check the required inputs and signal compatibility before installation.

7. Does the amplifier have bass control?
Yes. The MOCO AF-04.120 includes adjustable Bass Boost from 0 dB to +12 dB, allowing you to increase low-frequency impact according to your system and listening preference.

8. Can I adjust the crossover frequency?
Yes. It features a variable Low Pass Filter (LPF) from 50Hz to 250Hz, giving installers control over the bass frequencies sent to compatible speakers or subwoofer setups.

9. Will this amplifier make my car speakers louder?
It can provide substantially more amplification than many factory systems, potentially improving volume headroom, speaker control and overall sound performance when correctly matched and installed.

10. Do I need professional installation for this car amplifier?
Professional installation is recommended. Correct power wiring, grounding, speaker impedance, gain settings and crossover configuration are important for safe and reliable performance.

11. What voltage does the MOCO AF-04.120 require?
The amplifier is designed to operate on 11V15V DC, making it suitable for standard automotive electrical systems when correctly installed.

12. Is this amplifier suitable for a high-power car audio setup?
Yes. Its 4-channel configuration, high RMS output and bridged capability make it suitable for building a more powerful speaker-and-subwoofer car audio system, provided all components are properly matched.

13. What should I check before buying this amplifier?
Check your speakers’ RMS power and impedance, subwoofer requirements, available installation space, head-unit signal type and the required wiring. Proper component matching is essential for the best results.

14. Does adding an amplifier improve sound quality or only volume?
A correctly matched amplifier can improve more than volume. Additional clean power can provide better speaker control, stronger dynamics and improved clarity, particularly when the factory system is power-limited.

15. Is the MOCO AF-04.120 a good choice for upgrading a factory car audio system?
It can be a strong option when you want more power and flexibility than the factory system provides. However, compatibility and speaker/subwoofer matching should be checked before purchase.
