DAPS 65 Watt Hid Kit 6000k

Product Overview

The Sweet Spot of High-Output Lighting

If standard 35-watt or 55-watt headlight upgrades leave you wanting more down-road projection, step up your performance. The DAPS 65-Watt HID Conversion Kit bridges the gap between conventional aftermarket lighting and extreme-power setups. This complete high-intensity discharge system generates a dense, broad field of light that dramatically improves peripheral visibility on unlit highways and rural roads, keeping you safe from sudden hazards.

True 65W AC Digital Power Circuitry

Cheap, low-tier DC ballasts are notorious for flickering, shifting colors, and humming under the hood. The DAPS kit eliminates those headaches by packing heavy-duty 65-Watt AC (Alternating Current) digital ballasts. The advanced digital microprocessor inside constantly measures your vehicle’s voltage fluctuations, smoothing out power delivery. This results in incredibly fast bulb warmup times, longer system longevity, and a completely flicker-free beam.

Crisp 6000K Diamond White Performance

The kit includes a matched pair of premium xenon discharge bulbs tuned to a highly desirable 6000-Kelvin Diamond White spectrum. This crisp cool white light gives your vehicle an aggressive, modern appearance while sharply highlighting lane paint, road signs, and asphalt debris. The bulb capsules are structurally centered to sit precisely at the engineered focal spot of your headlights, providing maximum throw with a clean cutoff line.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What individual components come included inside this DAPS 65W kit?

A: This is a comprehensive front lighting overhaul kit sold as an all-inclusive set. The package includes two DAPS 65-Watt AC Digital Ballasts, two matching 6000K Xenon HID Bulbs, integrated waterproof connection wires, and the mounting brackets required for a secure left and right-side installation.

Q: Why is an AC (Alternating Current) ballast superior to a DC ballast?

A: Standard DC ballasts push high-voltage power in only one direction, which unevenly degrades the internal bulb materials, causing early failure and beam flickering. DAPS AC ballasts alternate the current pulse smoothly, keeping the gas arc perfectly stabilized, running the bulb cooler, and extending its life significantly.

Q: Will this 65-watt kit melt my car’s stock plastic headlight housings?

A: While HID technology is incredibly efficient and runs cooler than halogens relative to its light output, a 65W ballast creates noticeable energy heat inside the housing. It is highly recommended to install this kit inside 3.0-inch headlight projector lenses or thick composite housings that have adequate internal air space to safely dissipate thermal energy.

Q: Can I connect this kit directly to my factory wiring harness?

A: Yes, the kit uses standard plug-and-play connectors that hook straight into your vehicle’s stock bulb wiring to catch the trigger signal. However, if your car features a highly sensitive CANbus computer system (common in premium European or luxury cars), you may require an added plug-and-play CANbus decoder module to bypass dashboard warning prompts.

Q: What is the most critical precaution to take during installation?

A: Never touch the glass quartz bulb capsule with your bare fingers. Skin contact transfers natural micro-oils to the quartz surface. When the high-power 65W HID ignites, these oils heat up rapidly and create intense localized hot spots that can warp, weaken, or instantly shatter the glass. Always hold the bulbs by their composite plastic bases or wear clean cloth gloves during assembly.

If you need a recommendation for a heavy-duty battery relay harness to safely power this kit, or want to verify which bulb socket size fits your car’s model year, let me know and I can look that up for you!
