CERWIN-VEGA MOBILE VEGA XED650C 300 Watts Max 2-Way Component Speaker Set

Product Overview

The Cerwin-Vega Mobile VEGA XED650C is a high-value 6.5-inch 2-way component speaker system designed to replace dull, low-efficiency factory speakers with loud, dynamic, and clear audio output. Engineeed as part of Cerwin-Vegas famous XED series, this system allows audio enthusiasts to establish a realistic soundstage across their vehicle’s front seats without requiring high-cost custom work.

Curvilinear Polypropylene Woofer Cones

The XED650C mid-woofers feature durable curvilinear polypropylene cones supported by flexible butyl rubber surrounds. This rigid construction prevents cone distortion during loud low-frequency hits, ensuring controlled, punchy mid-bass performance and clear vocal reproduction.

Balanced Metal Dome Tweeters

High-frequency audio is handled by separate balanced metal dome CV tweeters. By separating the tweeter from the woofer and mounting it higher on your A-pillars or door sails, the XED650C lifts the audio soundstage to ear level, producing crisp, detailed high notes that cut through road and tire noise effortlessly.

Outboard Crossover Networks & High Efficiency

Equipped with compact external crossover networks, the XED650C directs the proper frequency ranges to the mid-woofer and tweeter while protecting high-frequency drivers from low-end distortion. Featuring a high 93 dB sensitivity rating, these speakers deliver energetic, room-filling sound directly off standard factory head units or low-power aftermarket receivers.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Do I need an external amplifier to power the Cerwin-Vega XED650C component speakers?

A: No. Thanks to a high 93 dB sensitivity rating, the XED650C set runs efficiently directly off the power output of a standard factory stereo or aftermarket touchscreen radio. However, adding a small 2-channel or 4-channel power amplifier will enhance mid-bass impact and dynamic output.

Q: What are the benefits of choosing a component set over coaxial (all-in-one) speakers?

A: Component speaker systems separate the mid-bass woofer and the high-frequency tweeter. Mounting the separate metal dome tweeters higher on the dashboard, A-pillars, or door sails lifts the soundstage to ear level, producing clearer vocal separation and realistic stereo imaging compared to lower door-mounted coaxial speakers.

Q: Are crossovers included with this Cerwin-Vega speaker kit?

A: Yes, the XED650C package includes a pair of external crossover modules. These crossovers divide the audio frequencies, sending low and mid frequencies to the 6.5″ woofer while channeling high frequencies safely to the metal dome tweeters.

Q: Will these speakers drop into my cars factory 6.5″ speaker locations?

A: Yes. The 6.5-inch mid-woofers feature a shallow 2.2-inch top-mount depth and a standard 4-hole mounting pattern designed to fit into standard front or rear door cutouts across most vehicles.
