Deaf Bonce Machete ML-12S D2 Subwoofer

Product Overview

The Deaf Bonce Machete ML-12S D2 is a 12-inch Dual 2-Ohm (2+2 $\Omega$) subwoofer engineered for car audio enthusiasts seeking impactful, high-efficiency bass without needing massive amplifier power. Rated at 300 Watts RMS (600 Watts Max), this entry-level driver delivers Deaf Bonce’s signature SPL performance in an easy-to-drive daily configuration.

Paper Cone & High-Excursion Foam Surround

At the heart of the ML-12S D2 is a lightweight pressed paper cone paired with a high-excursion foam surround. Paper remains the gold standard for natural acoustic reproduction, allowing the cone to move rapidly while maintaining rigidity under structural stress. The wide foam roll surround provides up to $10ext{ mm}$ of linear $X_{\max}$ excursion for clean, undistorted low-end response.

Thermal Dissipation & Wiring Versatility

Equipped with a 1.75-inch copper voice coil wound on a heat-resistant former and backed by a dense ferrite motor structure, the ML-12S D2 handles continuous thermal stress with ease. Its Dual 2-Ohm configuration gives you setup flexibilitywire a single sub to a 1-Ohm or 4-Ohm load, or link a pair together to present a 2-Ohm load to a monoblock amplifier.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How should I wire a single Deaf Bonce Machete ML-12S D2 to my amplifier?

A: Since it features Dual 2-Ohm voice coils, you can wire the coils in parallel for a 1-Ohm final load (if your monoblock amplifier is 1-ohm stable) or in series for a 4-Ohm final load.

Q: What size amplifier is recommended for this subwoofer?

A: A monoblock amplifier capable of supplying between 250 and 350 Watts RMS at 1 Ohm or 4 Ohms will drive the ML-12S D2 to its full performance potential without risk of clipping distortion.

Q: Does the ML-12S D2 work better in a sealed or ported enclosure?

A: It performs well in both:

• Sealed Enclosure: Delivers tighter, faster acoustic bass ideal for rock, pop, and vocal-heavy tracks.

• Ported (Vented) Enclosure: Yields higher SPL output, deeper low-frequency extension, and heavier impact for hip-hop, electronic, and bass-heavy tracks.
