Infinity Primus PR6512IS Speaker (Black)

Product Overview

The Infinity Primus PR6512is delivers signature Infinity sound quality with crisp vocals and punchy mid-bass in an accessible 6.5-inch coaxial design.

The Infinity Primus PR6512is features Plus One polypropylene woofers and edge-driven tweeters to deliver 55W RMS of clear, detailed car audio.

Signature Infinity Dynamics in a Direct OEM Replacement

Standard factory speakers are built with low-cost paper cones and tiny magnets that produce muddy vocals and flat bass. The Infinity Primus PR6512is 6.5-Inch 2-Way Coaxial Speaker Set replaces stock drivers with high-output audio components engineered by Harman. Designed to handle 55 Watts RMS (165 Watts Peak), the PR6512is delivers clear vocals, sharp instrument separation, and dynamic bass response across all volume levels.

Patented Plus One Cones & Durable Rubber Surrounds

Infinitys patented Plus One polypropylene woofer cones offer up to 35% more radiating surface area than competing 6.5-inch speakers in its class. Displacing more air creates tighter, punchier mid-bass and natural vocal clarity. Paired with high-roll automotive-grade rubber surrounds, these woofers withstand extreme humidity and cabin temperature changes without degrading over time.

Edge-Driven Tweeters & Low Impedance Power Extraction

Unlike harsh W-dome tweeters found in generic speakers, the PR6512is utilizes edge-driven textile tweeters for smooth, wide high-frequency dispersion. Built with a low-impedance voice coil, these speakers safely extract maximum power output from factory touchscreens or multi-channel aftermarket amplifiers to ensure detailed, room-filling sound inside your car.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Will the Infinity Primus PR6512is fit into my vehicle’s door panels?

A: Yes, the PR6512is is designed in a standard 6.5-inch (165mm) frame size that fits standard factory door cutouts in most cars, SUVs, and hatchbacks.

Q: Do I need an external amplifier to run these speakers?

A: No. Due to their high sensitivity and efficient low-impedance voice coils, the PR6512is speakers play loudly and cleanly when driven directly by factory head units or aftermarket touchscreen radios. However, powering them with an external amplifier (30W60W RMS per channel) will unlock deeper bass punch and higher volume levels without distortion.

Q: Is the Infinity Primus PR6512is a coaxial or a component speaker?

A: The PR6512is is a 2-way coaxial speaker, meaning the tweeter is built directly into the center of the woofer cone on a single chassis for quick, drop-in replacement.

Q: What is included in the box?

A: The package includes 1 pair (2 speakers) of Infinity Primus PR6512is 6.5″ coaxial speakers, protective speaker grilles, mounting screws, speed clips, and a user manual.
