Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Is the KeyCare Icon 799 compatible with my specific make and model?

A: The Icon 799 is a universal upgrade built to integrate with roughly 95% of modern vehicle brands, but it does carry one strict rule: your vehicle must already feature a factory push-button start system. If you have an older car that requires physically twisting an iron key into a mechanical keyway to crank the engine, this kit will not work.

Q: Will installing this aftermarket smart key void my car’s manufacturer warranty?

A: No, your factory warranty remains safe. The system does not cut, tap, or splice into any factory vehicle wires. Instead, a technician opens your original spare key fob, removes its circuit board, and precisely solders thin data leads from the new LCD display unit onto the original micro-switches. Your car continues to talk only to its original factory chip.

Q: What happens if the digital LCD touchscreen dies while I’m away from home?

A: You will never be stranded outside your car. The Icon 799 is engineered with a dual-stage reserve power cell. When the power drains past the point of running the visual display panel, it locks down screen access and saves the remaining power for the physical alloy buttons, keeping them functional for up to 100 additional days.

Q: How does the smart key sense when I am walking closer to the car?

A: The kit comes bundled with a small OBD-II data transmitter that plugs directly into the vehicle’s diagnostic port located beneath your steering wheel column. This transmitter broadcasts an encrypted proximity signal that communicates safely with your smart key.

Q: Can I change the car logo displayed on the screen interface?

A: Yes! The KeyCare Icon 799 comes loaded with a massive database of international automotive brand logos. During initial setup, you can access the configuration menu to select and display your vehicle’s exact emblem on the startup sequence.
